Dame Kiri Te Kanawa Coming to Oamaru!

One of the world’s leading operatic performers, the New Zealand-born Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, is known to music lovers around the world as much for her beautiful soprano voice as for the work she does to help young singers develop their careers.

Dame Kiri has said that performing at Oamaru’s iconic opera house has been on her “bucket list” for some time, and last week it was announced that she will fulfil this desire of hers next year with a single concert (her only New Zealand concert in 2013) in Oamaru on 27 March 2013. “An Evening with Dame Kiri” will present a number of her favourite arias, with a detailed programme to come later in the year, and tickets go on sale on 27 October (tickets reserved for residents of the Waitaki District went on sale on 18 October, and sold out within a day).
