Penguin Report for June 2012

As you can see below, the numbers of Blue Penguins returning each night to the Oamaru Blue Penguin Colony decreases somewhat during the winter, with numbers dropping into the low double-digits as the penguins spend a bit more time at sea fishing and coming back to shore a bit less often. Before long, though, they will be redoing their nests in preparation for the mating season, so look for numbers to start to increase before too long.
